Sumo Seeks CSS Guru
Sumo is expanding again! We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented CSS coder to join the friendly team here at Sumo Creative Digital Media in Leederville.
Our office is nestled right in the heart of Leederville. It is just a short stroll from the Oxford street hub.
To be successful in this role you will be highly motivated, adaptable and keen to be part of a dynamic and creative team. You will thrive on the challenge of creating clean, streamlined code that displays correctly in all browsers.
Overview of Role
This is a full time position. Your role will involve working on a wide range of projects, from enterprise-level commercial Websites/Intranets through to interactive media projects such as touch screen kiosks, CD/DVD and animated signage.
You will be required to participate in multiple stages of development including: CSS template coding; integration of the CSS template with Sumo CMS systems (you will receive necessary training for this); content insertion; design updates; development of and fully functional products and maintenance of new and existing products. You may be required to meet with clients, so you will need to be well presented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will be responsible for delivering within project time frames as briefed by the directors and project managers.
Primarily you will report to the Project Manager and Creative Director, although you may at times report to a Senior Designer or the company Directors.
The successful applicant will be able to meet the following requirements:
Skill and Experience
- Ability to code clean CSS/HTML that is fully tested and functional in all required browsers
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Folio will display good conceptual thinking and website design development
Quality
- Work to a Sumo brand standard and test all work before presenting to CD/Project Manager
Time Management
- Effective use of time & ability to manage workloads to reach deadlines
- Delivery of work within time budgets to Sumo standards
- Effective management of workload demands and priorities
Communication
- Work as team to share workloads, meet deadlines and complete the job within budget
- Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients
- Obtain an accurate understanding of a job brief and clarify if required

It is an excellent opportunity for a developer looking to expand skills across a range of diverse and challenging projects within a creative company.
Job Summary
We’re looking for a developer to work on a contract basis for two to three months. You will be working with an existing team of designers and developers. Initially you will be working on a specific high-profile project. You will take direction from other developers on this project, and regularly report to project leaders. Although you will be working in a team, the ability to work without supervision on set tasks is essential.
We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and teamwork skills. You must be an innovator and a problem solver who produces solutions with an aim to exceed client and company expectations. You will work as part of a team to share workloads, meet deadlines and complete projects within budget.
