Centrepay Deductions

About Centrepay Deductions

Centrepay is a free, voluntary service that allows you to pay your bills through regular deductions from your Centrelink payments to a Centrepay approved business. Centrepay automatically deducts your specified amount from your Centrelink payment before you receive it and transfers it to the Centrepay approved business. Centrepay deductions can be a useful way to pay money towards your electricity and/or gas account.

Setting up a Centrepay Deduction

There are several ways you can set up a Centrepay Deduction.

1. Call Sumo on 03 9103 2920 to speak with a representative who, with your consent, can set up a deduction on your behalf.

2. Log onto your Centrelink account and set up a deduction yourself:

    a. You will need to enter Sumo’s business name, Sumo’s business CRN which is 555 111 891 C and your Sumo account number.

    b. It is important to use your correct account number to ensure the funds are correctly allocated to your account.

    c. You can find your account number on the top right-hand corner of your invoice.

    d. If you have multiple Sumo accounts (e.g. separate electricity and gas accounts), you will need to set up a separate deduction for each account number, if this is what you wish.

3. Complete and sign the Centrepay Deduction Authority Form and return it to Sumo at centrepay@sumo.com.au. It’s important to include your Sumo account number (question 11) to ensure the timely allocation of your payment to your account.
